IGP Reinforces Security In Plateau After Bokkos Attack

The Inspector-General of Police has ordered the deployment of additional personnel and operational equipment to Plateau State, with a special focus on Bokkos Local Government Area, following the deadly attack on Kawel community that claimed 22 lives.

Addressing journalists at the Police Headquarters in Jos, the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 4, which comprises Plateau, Nasarawa and Benue states Morris Dankwanbo said the directive followed an assessment visit to the affected community.

He assured residents that security agencies are intensifying efforts to identify, apprehend and prosecute those responsible for the attack.

The AIG also appealed to members of the community to remain law-abiding and avoid taking the law into their own hands, assuring them that police presence has been strengthened to safeguard lives and property.
